Playart is the shapes and lines used to create a play or formation diagram. Playbook Wizard stores playart separately from your play or formation definition so you can easily change how your play or formation looks (e.g. what color the players are or whether a line for motion is solid or dashed) without changing the content itself.
Default Playart
Your default playart is the playart you’ll see when you’re designing a play (or formation – I’ll just use “play” from here on out but know I mean both plays and formations) and the playart others will see when viewing your plays. It’s also the playart used for the play thumbnail image shown on the play list page.
Your default playart will be the system default playart if you haven’t chosen a default playart for your account. To choose a different default playart find playart you like on the flag football playart page and click the title to go to its detail page.
From there, click the “share” wand in the Playart Info box:
and then “Play Designer / Default” from the share popup:
The Playart Info box will change to note that you’ve chosen this playart as your default:
(To remove this playart as your default just click the “[remove]” link in the Playart Info box.)
When you choose a playart as your default it will be used for all current and future plays in the play designer and all of your current plays and formations will be flagged to have their thumbnail image refreshed to reflect the new playart. (The thumbnail image refresh will happen the next time anyone visits their play/formation detail page.)
Using default playart you can change the look of every play and formation you’ve ever created with one click of the mouse!
Playbook-Specific Playart
You can also set playart to apply to a specific playbook by choosing that playbook instead of “Play Designer / Default” from the share popup. All plays from the playbook you choose will now use this playart while all plays outside the playbook will continue to use your default playart (unless they’re also in a playbook that has playbook-specific playart defined).
Just like default playart, the Playart Info box will change to note that you’re chosen this playart for your playbook:
Finding Your Playart
The yellow and green stars will appear on the flag football playart page to help you identify your default and playbook-specific playart just like they appear in the Playart Info box on the playart detail page.
You can also search for your default or playbook-specific playart from the list of playart by clicking either the yellow (for default) or green (for playbook-specific) star at the top of the list:
Creating Playart
If you don’t find any playart you like you can always create your own with the playart designer. Just click on “Add New Playart” from the top navigation menu under “Playart” or click the “Add a New Playart” button in the right column of the playart list. For more info, see How to Create Playart.
