There are two components to each play, formation, or playart (“content”) – the diagram and the metadata. The diagram is the visual representation of the content and the metadata is information about it like its name, description, and tags.
The diagram is edited by right-clicking on the field and the various player, route, and coverage shapes and choosing options from the menus that pop up. These options can get complex so they’re covered in other more specific articles – for now I just want to cover how the diagram and metadata are managed via the manage box.
The manage box is at the top right of the content diagram:
Here’s a brief overview of what each manage icon does:
Save the diagram. | |
Edit and save the metadata.
Create a copy of the content.
Delete the content. |
(An important thing to remember about editing and saving on the designer pages is that the diagram and the metadata is edited and saved separately. Editing and saving the metadata will not automatically save current changes to the diagram.)
Color Variations
The background color of the save and edit icons will also change based on the diagram and metadata. For example, the save icon background color will change to yellow when there are unsaved changes to the diagram and the edit icon will have a yellow background if the record you’re editing is in draft status.
